 The export turnover of Vietnam Textile and Garment industry increased rapidly in 2008 (nearly 18%). However, in 2009, under the influence of the global economic crisis, export turnover of Vietnam Textile and Garment Industry went down (approximately 0.6% less in comparison to 2008) to the level of 9,066 million.

In the first 10 months of 2011, exports of Textile and Garment industry continued to grow sharply (nearly 30% over the same period in 2010).

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the export prices of Textile and Garment Industry‘s products increased constantly over the first months since March 2011.

Especially in 9/2011, prices of exported textile products rose by 0.4% as compared to the last month and up 11.8% over the same period last year.

Vietnam Textile exported garment products to 54 markets worldwide. The biggest customers of Vietnam were the U.S., EU, Japan, Korea, Canada and Taiwan.

The first 9 months of 2011, the export turnover of the industry to the market accounted for nearly 89.5% of total turnover.

By the end of the year, Vietnam's Textile and Garment Industry had about 650 foreign enterprises and joint ventures, among them the largest is Taiwan and Korea.
