- When: March 11-13, 2014

- Where: Ha Noi

Nang Luong Viet Nam - Vietnam is planning to promote its extractive potential, seek investment and cooperation opportunities and approach the latest technologies at the Mining Vietnam 2014`, one of the most major mining exhibitions of the world.

Mining Vietnam 2014, the second event since 2012, will take place on March 11-13 in the capital city of Hanoi. At the event, participants including senior officials and hundreds of companies from 29 countries will discuss cooperation programs, showcase technologies, among other activities.

BT Tee from the U.K.’s Allworld Exhibition Alliance said that although the Vietnamese mining industry is facing many challenges including weak management and a lack of transparency, many foreign investors are still interested in the local industry. He proposed the country invest more in technology application and human resource training to tap the potential.

Energy demands among countries are increasing amid a serious decline in reserves at mines. Global firms are rushing to seek investment opportunities to diversify their supply sources.

Vietnam has found over 5,000 ore mines with more than 60 kinds of minerals. The country now ranks first worldwide in titanium reserves (650 million tons) and the third in bauxite reserves (5.4 billion tons).
