In the 2012-2015 period, the country’s tea production growth rate is set to be at 6% so Vietnam can export 200,000 tons of tea worth $440 million yearly by 2015.

Last year, Vietnam raked in $224.59 million from exports of 146,708 tons of tea, up 1.1% and 9.6% on year, respectively.

In the first five months of this year, the country shipped abroad 48,000 tons of tea worth $73 million, up 1.3% in value despite a decrease of 5.6% in volume from the same period last year, said the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
